Ear-rings: A natural healer


Earrings actually have a very beneficial function. Wearing earrings has an acupuncture-effect on the body. In ancient China, earrings developed for health purposes rather than female embellishment purposes, stemming from the result of acupuncture of the ear. The father of Western medicine, Hippocrates, wrote about ear piercing and earring wearing around 470 B.C. as a remedy and treatment for menstrual problems. Ancient people treated diseases of feminine Yin organs via earrings in the left ear and diseases of the male Yang organs via the right ear.

Nose-ring (Nath): breath regularizing agent.

This is the ornaments which is worn in nose, it is called Nath / Nathni in Hindi. Mukkuthi / Mookuthi in Tamil. This is one of the compulsory ornaments as per Hindu traditions and should be wear by every Indian girl. It helps to breath regular and comfortably. These Indian traditions have become a sign of fashion these days.
The custom to wear this ornamental jewel is typically different from one state to other, one caste to other and even different amongst communities within Hindu religion. Some use it in their left nose, some at right and few wear it in both sides of their nose. Though it is mainly used for beautifying women, the in-depth meaning can’t be termed as unfound myth. It is considered to regularize breathing.
According to Ayurveda, piercing the nose near a particular node on the nostril helps in lessening the pain during monthly periods in women. Hence, girls as well as older women are supposed to wear nose rings. It is preferred that women wear nose rings on the left nostril since the nerves leading from the left nostril are associated with the female reproductive organs. Piercing the nose at this position helps in easing childbirth.
It is widely believed and thought that the nose is exclusively for sensual smell and breathing only. But in a well established practices, this theory manipulates, that it connects with emotional, sexual and romantic propositions too! That’s what the decorative ornaments and jewels to the Nose apparently causes – not only beautifying, but also significantly adds value to the marital life as well !
It is considered as a breath regularizing and some say it is just to eliminate the poison coming out while exhaling carbon. But traditions apart, every community and caste, without any barrier uses this nose-stead. According to the Indian medicine, the female who get her nose pierced is assumed to experience less pains while delivering the child. The reason behind this belief is, through the piercing some vein is pressed that makes the childbirth easier. It is said that Ayurvedic (the oldest Vedic scripts that refer to medicine and part of Vedic resources) medicine associates nostril’s piercing location with the female reproductive organs. That’s why one need get the nose pierced by an experienced goldsmith, who knows by touching the skin, whether or not any nerve pass through the specific portion. While piercing the ear or nose, no passing nerve system should be disturbed or wounded, hence much care has to be taken for piercing.
The Abharana Bhushana Vidhi states, that wearing a nose ring or a nose stead is a must for a women, if one needs to enjoying life in its pleasurable counts. True. the carbon emanated during the sexual union, the poisonous emission is minimized due to the wearing of a metallic (Gold, Silver) ornament in the nose. Also, the oculists believed, it is very difficult to bring into control or hypnotize or mesmerize the women who wear such sort of Nath/ Mookuthi, functions as a controlling the brainwave length thus avoiding a surrender to the opponent who try to hypnotize.

Mang-tikka: focus & mental energy


Mang-Tikka is a very important accessory in the jewellery category. Wearing a tikka on the forehead helps improve focus and increases mental energy. The tikka controls the heat of our body. Spessartite - Yellowish Orange Garnet 

Spessartite is an orange to red-brown gemstone that belongs to the large and varied garnet species. The name, "spessartine" comes from the Bavarian word, "Spessart", meaning "forest", which is a mountain range in Germany where spessartine garnet deposits were found in the 1880s. Spessartite was not often seen in jewellery until deposits were mined in Namibia and Mozambique in the 1990s.
Spessartite has manganese in its formula. This manganese creates a yellowish-orange color. Because many of spessartite’s ancestors married almandines, many are a reddish orange due to some iron. The lighter orange spessartites, similar in color to orange soft drinks, are almost pure spessartites.
